Roots Reggae · Live Looping
Virginia-based reggae vocalist and performer with 20+ years on stage. Solo, he builds full reggae riddims live with a looper. With The Dubsettors, he brings a full band.
With over 20 years of experience in the reggae scene, Greg Ward has established himself as a respected vocalist and performer. His deep connection to reggae comes from years of studying the genre's roots and collaborating with Jamaican artists.
Based in Virginia, Greg has helped grow the local reggae community, performing at venues across the state and bringing authentic reggae to diverse audiences.
He co-founded the Virginia Reggae Freedom Fest with Shannon Farrar and Plaza Antigua. It's an annual festival in Waynesboro, VA featuring international and regional artists.
His solo shows use live looping to build complete riddims in real time: basslines, skanks and percussion layered in front of the audience. He also produces reggae tracks for licensing and is available for studio production work.
Greg builds a full wall of sound by himself: thick basslines, sharp skanks and soulful percussion, layered in real time. The power of a band with the intimacy of a solo set. Well suited to breweries, wineries, lounges and private events.
Greg Ward & The Dubsettors, with Nick Burgess on bass and Brent Finlen on drums. Suited to festivals, larger rooms and outdoor stages.
Reggae tracks for licensing, plus studio production work. His range runs from traditional roots reggae to contemporary fusion.
